This week has felt like it's lasted no more than 2 minutes, it's gone by so quick and even though everyday has been jampacked, it felt like Monday was only yesterday. I've spent this week seeing friends and family, finishing off some holiday shopping and soaking up some rays on the odd occasion where the weather has been May appropriate.

With half term almost over and my final exam lurking around the corner, next week should be a gooden with no school and my holiday starting at the end of the week.

Anyway, photos and that.

1. Sky Pic

Durh it's a sky pic. Standard procedure really. This one I particularly love because of the rays of sunshine peaking through the trees just before it set one evening. The perks of having an attic bedroom is that I get the best views and photo opportunities when it comes to sky pics, winner.

2. Seeing Friends

On Monday I was lucky enough to be able to see all my friends from my old school at a party. It's a rarity that we get to catch up because of everyones different school times, distance and plans but luckily we had a good meet up on Monday.

3. Upton Country Park

Early on in the week my parents, my dog and I went for a walk around the grounds of Upton Country Park in the blistering sunshine. At something absurd like 23 degrees, it was the perfect day for a walk. Of course I snapped a few (okay more like 20) shots along the way but this one of some flowers was my favourite.

4. Lunch At Azzurro

After hours of shopping and walking around Gunwharf Quays last Monday, my family and I found this restaurant situated on the second floor of the shopping centre and thank god we did. A modern take on classic Italian cuisine, Azzurro covers all the expected. From pizza to pasta, risotto and salads, they've got it all! I opted for Spigola All'Arancia - which is basically sea bass on a bed of orange, fennel and mint salad with an orange dressing and Mediterranean vegetables on the side - aka delish.

If you're ever in Gunwharf Quays and fancy a bite to eat, I definitely recommend!

And that's all for today's post, thanks for reading!

I've currently just overdosed on toast and coffee this morning and I'm lying down to somewhat deflate my toast filled belly - yeah it's not a pretty sight.

Anyway enough with the toast talk, I've got a Friday Faves for you all and you're lucky I do because I wasn't going to post it but long story short, here's this weeks faves...

1. Patterned Trousers

These Primark bad boys features in my OOTW post earlier on this week and have literally been the only things I've been wearing - okay that might be a slight overexagguration but you get what I mean. They are so comfy and thrown on with a simple black tee it looks you've made somewhat of an effort, when really you haven't (those are the best kind of outfits). Anyway, if you want to hear more about them - other than the fact that I love them and that's why they're in this weeks faves - check out my OOTW post.

2. Hannah Gale's blog

I hardly ever include other bloggers/vloggers into a faves post, I don't know why but whatever, Hannah Gale is in this weeks faves.

I've been reading her blog and watching her Youtube videos for a while now and can hands down say she is one of my faves, if not my favourite. She's down to earth, says it as it is and is hilarious. Read any of her blog posts and you'll see what I mean. Her blog screams humour, sarcasm and perfectly written posts and her Youtube videos are fab. Seriously, go check her out now!

3. Iced Coffee

Okay, I am a coffee obssesive. I never wanted to be one and I definitley never wanted to be that person who can't function without their morning coffee, but look where I've got to. I am now that person.

Every morning I make myself (the worlds best) iced coffee and don't know what I'd do without it. This isn't really a faves of this week in particular but for some reason I've never included it, so here it is.

4. Peanut Butter

Not just an old peanut butter, but the best peanut butter. This is from the brand Meridian and is made from nothing but peanuts. It's 100% peanut. Unlike other brands, nothing extra is added especially palm oil (read this for more info) which is a leading factor into deforestation and the death of many animals - crazy how buying this peanut butter will actually make a difference. Anyway this techincally is a healthy alternative to the other spreads out there and tastes delish - win!

5. VSCO Cam

I've never been a budding photographer. I've never had a decent camera to snap some shots on and my current Iphone 4s isn't the best quality for taking photos. I mean I love taking photos, I really do but none of them have ever turned out anything other than okay, well not until I found VSCO Cam. I had downloaded and fiddled around with it before but deleted and forgot about it.

After reading Vivianna from Vivianna Does Makeup's post about how she edits her Insta photos using VSCO Cam, I instantly re-downloaded it. My life has been changed. VSCO Cam has changed my life. It's so simple to use and really does change your photos from bleurghh to brill.

Just look at this one:

For us dedicated fake-tanners out there, fake tan is our best friend and something that we could never live without. And here are 27 things that have definitely happened to you if you're a dedicated fake tanner...

1. People have actually began to question your ethnicity

2. You've actually began to question your own ethnicity

3. You've been called orange more times than you can count

4. Whenever you don't have fake tan on (which is like never) everyone always asks if you're ill

5. Being pale is just something you can't comprehend

6. You have no choice but to have black bed sheets otherwise your mum will go berserk that you've turned all her white bed sheets "orange"

7. The insides of your white clothes don't stay white for very long

8. You're even sometimes too scared to hug someone in a white top in case you leave a mark behind

9. You've tried every fake tan known to man - yeah even Primark's own

10. When you start going patchy you have no choice but to scrub it all off and start again

11. Or go out in trousers and a turtle neck in the middle of summer

12. Otherwise you will look like you have some form of skin disease

13. You probably have an array of foundations to match every skin tone you can be

14. Waking up in the morning and realising you've missed a patch and wondering what you've done wrong in life to deserve this

15. You can't help but compare your arm to your palest friends arm

16. Most of your wages goes on fake tan, fake tan mitts, fake tan remover, fake tan exfoliants, just everything to do with fake tan

17. To you, fake tanning is almost like a full-time job

18. You spend at least 30 minutes walking around your room naked like a robot waiting for your tan to dry

19. You know too well that fake tan and rain really don't go well together

20. You can't imagine life being pale

21. You've been through the smelling like a mixture of biscuits and piss phase

22. You've had at least one family member think they're a total joker and say something like "I think you've been tangoed" or "Where have you been? The Bahamas?!" - oh the banter

23. You've forgotten to moisturise dry patches never had any bigger life regrets

24. Sometimes you even forget what it's like being pale - how do people cope?!

25. You admit that you've had one or two (okay maybe more) fake tan disasters

26. But you've always learnt from your mistakes

27. And you're now a beautiful tanned goddess

Oh fake tan, where would we be without you <3

No one in their right mind has the time (and don't forget energy) to wash their makeup brushes once a week, let alone after every use. I mean c'mon, if someone tells you that they religiously give their brushes a weekly deep clean, they're probs lying.

Anyway, on the (dare I say it) fortnightly to monthly occurrence when my brushes have gone past the stage of looking worse for wear, a good ol' scrubbing is defo in order. Realistically, it doesn't even take that long to bring them back to a normal slash clean state, it's just finding time to do it which is the biggest hassle. I usually leave them overnight to dry but if you need to apply makeup that evening, there's no time to clean them once you're all dolled up - is there? Do you see what I mean?! Dilemma or what.

But today was the day, when (as you can you probably tell by the sad looking brushes in the photos) that my makeup brushes got a clean.

I only decided to clean the brushes that I use on a everyday basis because y'know, doing all 62 of them would be way too much effort.

And here's how I did it...

You can buy shampoos and cleansers specifically designed for make up brushes but there's nothing wrong with some basic shampoo or conditioner (although I have tried baby shampoo before and it works a treat).

Begin by filling the sink with warm water and leaving the tap slowly running.

Next, squirt a small amount of shampoo into the palm of your hand.

Holding the brush downwards, rinse it under the warm water and then in circular motions rub it into the shampoo in the palm of your hand.

Every so often wash it in the water in the sink and keep reapplying shampoo until the brush is back to its original colour.

Squeeze the remainder of water out of the bristles in a downwards motion and place on a towel to dry ensuring the brush end is lower down than the back.

Repeat until all brushes have been cleaned.

For best results leave overnight.

And that's all for now, thanks for reading!

I know, I mean ME wearing patterns. What is happening. Something other than just an all black outfit for once. Shock. Even though the trousers are predominately black and only broken up by white lines it's still a pattern!

This was an impromptu and definitely an impulse buy that I committed last week and I'm so glad I picked them up. I had in mind to wear these as a potential comfy alternative to jeans to wear on the plane when I fly to Spain (on my own, oh my gawwd) in the beginning of June (so soon oh my gawwd).

I'd say they're the sort of harem/hareem (however you spell it) style as they're cuffed at the back of the ankle and have a stretchy waist. Yes they're comfy, yes they'll probably go with everything and yes they were from Primark (I know, what a shocker) but here's the best bit, THEY HAVE POCKETS. Two beautiful pockets situated either side of the hips and I'm so glad my prayers have been answered. Trousers that do not have pockets are trousers that are not worth buying and should be put back on the rail - no matter how sassy you look in them (trust me you'll thank me later). Pockets are the gift from the gods. When trousers have them (especially when you weren't expecting them to) it's a sign to buy. You probably can't get away with putting your phone in these ones - unless you're happy to have one side hanging lower than the other - but for putting your hands in (you know, to look mega cool and hip) these are perfect.

You can slut drop in these, you can lunge in these, you can do just about anything in these trousers (within reason of course). I decided to pair these with a black fine knit jumper, my Birkenstock dupes and a slouchy tote bag for a look which screams cool and comfy (cos you know who doesn't want to be cool and comfy). If you're in the market for some casual yet stylish trousers which can easily be dressed up or down, then these are for you. An absolute steal from Primark at £8, head on down to your nearest before they're gone.

Oh, and just a side note. Thanks to my neighbour for having a sweet brick wall that's perfect for an ootd shoot backdrop. Oh and also thanks to my bro for being my photographer.

Don't lie, you secretly love Primark. From the 50p bargains you may stumble across whilst rummaging through an overflowing rack somewhere in the deepest darkest depths of the shop to the tragic t-shirts which really shouldn't be legal to buy, you've got to admit you've probably found some goodens in there somewhere.

Regardless of Primarks tendencies to be jam packed with people (like literally why are there so many people in there all the time?!) and to make you spend WAY more money than you needed to, you've got to love the place.

And here's 53 thoughts every girl has whilst shopping in Primark...

1. I'm in Primark why am I here

2. It looks like a bomb has exploded

3. Shall I get a basket?

4. Do I need a basket?

5. I've got a basket

6. Bloody hell these things are massive

7. Shall I carry it in the crook of my arm or is that too sassy

8. Ooh look a sale

9. Trousers for 50p, don't mind if I do

10. They're two sizes too big but who cares, THEY'RE 50p

11. Oh god I've just seen someone I know

12. I bet they're judging me for shopping in Primark

13. Oh wait, they're shopping in Primark too

14. The prices have gone up so much now

15. £10 for a skirt you must be having a laugh

16. Last year that skirt would've been £6

17. Inflation eh?!

18. Who am I kidding, it's Primark I could practically buy the whole shop with money in my piggy bank

19. Do I really need that emoji t-shirt?

20. Okay I've just put it in my basket

21. And I may or may not have put the matching leggings in there to

22.YOLO

23. Oh look there's someone else I know

24. I've practically seen my whole school in here and I haven't even stepped 10ft into the shop yet

25. Some of these clothes are so tragic I don't even know why they were made

26. Like c'mon seriously who wants to wear an illuminous green tank top with "summer vibes" bejewelled on the front

27. Why are there so many people in here

28. Maybe I should pick up a bright pink lacy thong

29. Hmm yeah I don't have enough of them at home

30. What's that I see?

31. Oh it's a mountain of knickers

32. Best start rummaging then

33. I'll just have a quick look at the homeware section

34. Ooh cute candle

35. How come 5 have accidentally slipped into my basket

36. PUGS

37. PUGS EVERYWHERE

38. Shall I get that pug pillow to match that pug duvet set?

39. No. Stop. You don't need anymore pug-related items

40. Okay maybe just one pillow

41. Why is the queue for the changing rooms so long

42. Whatever I'll just try it on at home and bring it back if it doesn't fit

43. Quick the queue for the till has gone down

44. I hope no one just saw me running

45. Cute slippers

46. Maybe I should get some

47. Ooh Haribo Strawbs I defo need a packet of those

48. Wow the queues gone down quick

49. Why is this cashier so enthusiastic

50. How did I end up spending £56 in here

51. I'm pretty sure I only came in here for one thing

52. Lol look at all these bargains I've got

53. I love Primark

It's my first week (well few days to be precise) back to blogging after my revision and exam saturated break, but I'm back and here's a My Week In Photos for you.

You can probably imagine what my weeks been like, apart from a few highlights here and there and a massive one on Thursday (which can you read about here) it's mainly consisted of me with a pen in my hand trying to force feed myself information which as of today I now no longer need.

Anyway, enough with the revision talk. Here are this weeks My Week In Photos...

1.Sky Pic

A weekly photos post wouldn't be complete without a good old sky pic would it?! I snapped this early on last week when my mother screamed "Bets look at the sky" knowing full well that I'd have my phone handy ready to capture the sunset.

2.Selfie

Yes I know, it's a selfie. It's a rare occasion if I even do take a selfie and an even rarer occasion that it actually gets uploaded to some form of social media. But this one made the cut and I managed to hit the share button on Instagram, so here it is for you to enjoy!

3. Smoothie

Even since I blew the dust of my smoothie maker (which I only bought back in January) the other day to make this smoothie, I felt obliged to make another. This one that you can see here is one of my favourites as it's so quick to make and never fails. It's banana, frozen berries, crushed ice and coconut milk - I definitely recommend!

4. Purple Blossom Tree

I couldn't help but stop and take a photo of this tree whilst on a walk the other day. I've only ever seen cherry blossom trees before and never seen a purple blossom tree. However now I've learnt from research (yes I did just say research) that my eyes weren't deceiving me and this was in fact a purple blossom tree which technically goes by the name of "Jacaranda" - see you do learn something new everyday. Before I start sounding like a middle-age nature enthusiast, yeah the tree was pretty so I snapped a photo okay done.

5. Friday Afternoon View

If you follow me on Instagram you may have already seen this - and hopefully liked it. This was my view last Friday afternoon after all my errands and chores had been done *wipes sweat off face* and yes by "view" I do mean what I can see from my bed, I had a busy morning I needed a lie down - give a girl a break!

6. Cath Kidston

Of course I can't not talk about this! On Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited down to witness the launch of Cath Kidston's newest challenge of #RandomActsOfKidston taking place in my home town of Bournemouth. Last Thursday's blog post explains what went down and how you can actually hire one of the huts!

And that wraps up today's post. Thank you for reading!

I'm an avocado lover. Always have and always will be. Any meal that involves avocado I'll happily consume and I even decided what to eat at a resturant by seeing if there's avocado in it (basically like I did this when I went to Prezzo and got this salad). Yeah okay, I'm a tad obsessed with avo.

I've mashed up avocado, I've spread it on crispbreads (here's an example), I've put it in salads like this one, of course I've had it on toast with a poach egg on top (how instagram of me) and I've just simply cut it up and eaten it. However, there's one way that I've (shockingly) never eaten it...and that's thrown into and whizzed up in a smoothie!

Ever since I bought my smoothie maker (one of my January faves), I've made countless number of smoothies with pretty much every fruit and vegetable under the sun, apart from avocado! Don't ask why, it's just never gone in (in a smoothie that is).

I had one of those light bulb slash "Eureka, that's it!" moments earlier on today and decided to make a smoothie with avocado for the first time. I'm pretty sure there's a gazillion recipes out on the bloggersphere and Google itself which contain avocado and some other wonderful ingredients but I decided to keep it simple and use avocado, coconut milk and ice.

You can kind of guess how to make it but if not, here's how I did it...

Ingredients:

1 Hass Avocado

1 Cup of Coconut Milk

1 Cup of Ice Cubes (preferably crushed)

Method:

Obviously begin by laying your ingredients out and snapping some cute insta-worthy/blog shots and set up the smoothie maker.

Next pour the coconut milk into the blender.

Slice the avocado in half, scoop out the stone and discard. Using a spoon, scoop out the insides and place in the blender. (It's much easier to use a soft avocado rather than one that is very ripe as it is easier to scoop out and has a smoother consistency).

Pour the cup of crushed ice cubes into the blender and whizz it up in short bursts.

And then you're done!

N.B. Pouring it into a snazzy mason jar and placing some mint leaves on top is optional.

The smoothie itself is quite thick and filling so I suggest having it as an alternative to a meal, a snack or as a wake-me-up breakfast smoothie. Don't be fooled by the ghastly and garish green colour the smoothie itself doesn't taste nasty! If you love the taste of coconut milk and avocado, then definitely try this! The creamy consistency and refreshing after taste make it a perfect smoothie for the summer time and will certainly fill you up!

Thank you for reading and make sure to let me know if you've tried it!
