It's come to my attention that misplacing bare necessities such as hair products makes me appreciate how much I need/rely on them. Like everything, there are many hair products I could not live without. Everyone has things like this, whether it be that shampoo that makes your hair ultra silky smooth or that favourite hairspray. The hair industry has advanced so much in the last 10 years and created some products that people would have dreamt of having their whole lives.

10 Second Saviour

My first hair product I could not live without is Batiste's Big and Bouncy XXL Volume Dry Shampoo.

This I use sparingly when parts of my hair get a little greasy the day after I've washed it. If you are unfamiliar with dry shampoo it is a 10 second life saver and only requires you to hold the can 15 centimetres away and brush through after - its a walk in the park really! This shouldn't be used as an alternative to washing you hair in the shower but alongside it for when you really could do with a little hair refreshing. I usually flick between whatever dry shampoo is on offer whether that'll be the shops own brand or Batiste's as it can be quite pricey. Not only till I saw this on offer had I ever used it before. I myself have naturally thin hair which is always flat no matter how much volumising product I use or the amount of back-coming I do. This product seemed to fit the bill, dry shampoo which I need; check, XXL Volume; check.

A couple of sprays in the inflicted areas and few brush strokes later I flipped my head back up right and POOF big and bouncy was achieved. At first I was apprehensive at the fact that a dry shampoo could increase the volume in ones hair, but now that I've tried this ill never go back!

I really recommend this as an alternative to constant back-combing, as back-combing can damage your hair, however I do have to put my hand on my heart and say that I still back-comb but only a little. As for it's main use of being a dry shampoo, Batiste never fail to disappoint and at £2.99 it's an affordable necessity - plus the packaging is quite pretty too!

Best Brush Ever

It's recommended to brush your hair with at least 100 strokes a day to encourage hair growth. Brushing can be a chore, especially when it hurts and your hairs full of knots. Tangle Teaser manages to overcome all those things and for me becomes the best brush ever.
Tangle Teasers are hand sized plastic brushes with various sized plastic bristles. Amazingly, it can banish knots with a couple of strokes compared to normal hair brushes which can take up to 10 or more.

For me this brush is brilliant and something I carry around with me 24/7. Setting you back around £15, this hefty price for "just a hair brush" puts people off. I believe it's a £15 that you'll thank yourself you spent for years to come. Available in many colours including black, orange and pink and various patterns such as zebra and leopard this brush can fit with any personal preference. Tangle Teaser is not "just a hairbrush" but in fact a cleverly designed apparatus that banishes the monotonous chore of subjecting your head to a painful daily routine.

I highly recommend the Tangler Teaser as they're just a brilliant necessity that I believe all girls should own. As for the hefty price tag that comes with this clever brush, put it in your christmas list, birthday list or save your pennies for it and look around at different suppliers who have it at various prices, compare and then buy the cheapest one.

An exotic treat

My third and final hair product which I could not live without goes by the name of 'Argan Oil'. This Moroccan oil is put into various hair treatment products and is known for its high absorbing, penetrating and split end repairing qualities while leaving even the most damaged hair soft and nourished for added moisture.
I have two hair products that contain this super strengthening, hydrating treatment. One in the form of a cream and the other in its purest form of an oil.
The cream I got from Primark for £4 but can be bought in most good retailers. I use this once every couple of months when really I should be using it more and now analysing over the positivities of it I am now more encouraged to regularly use it.

The consistency is just like shampoo however with slightly different directions of use. It is recommended that you apply a generous amount of this Argan Oil Hair Treatment Mask to clean, wet hair. Then message into hair, focusing on specifically damaged areas such at the ends. Then let it penetrate and work it's magic for ten minutes and then rinse it out. Whenever I have used it my hair has felt in so much better condition and it smells great too!

The second Argan Oil based hair product I have is also from Primark and at only £2.50 I couldn't not get it. This I use religiously and have probably gone through in excess of around 5 bottles.

As you can see I comes in a small bottle as its only encouraged to use a 20p piece size at a time.
This unlike the cream can be used on dry hair as well and only to be applied to the hair avoiding the roots - I myself only apply it to the ends as that's where my hair is most damaged. Like the other Argan Oil product is provides a healing shine and feels so smooth.
Whether your hair is healthy, damaged, frizzy, straight or none of the above I highly recommend purchasing an Argan Oil product as the results are fabulous and an inexpensive luxury for you and your hair. Other than Primark the only other retailer I know that stocks a vast amount of various, unique Moroccan Oil hair care is Tk Maxx. Their prices range from as little as a couple of pounds to up to £20 for larger bottles of cream and shampoo. This rejuvenating treatment is really worth it and something my hair and I can't live without.

Thank you for reading my "Hair Products I Could Not Live Without" and feel free to comment with any questions.

Hello, once again it's Friday Fashion Fix so get those fashion tastebuds at the ready to indulge in some more up-to-date style secrets hot off the press.
This week I'm going to focus on trends for this winter and what's been emerging in all high street shops recently.

Firstly to one of my favourite prints and a print that anyone call pull off, and that is......tartan!

Originating from Scotland, the print 'tartan' has been dormant for many years in the fashion industry. This winter it makes it's big come back as seen in catwalks such as Versace and Christian Dior to name but a few. Be careful when revisiting this decades-old fashion obsession and remember not to go too crazy with this 80's punk print.

My most recent tartan purchase is a very cute and girly Peter Pan collared, tartan pinafore shaped dress from Primark and a steal at only £15.

I love wearing this as it reminds me of a posh private school uniform, especially with the black bow at the joining of the collars. I wear this with black tights, black velvet slippers, black leather jacket and a fur Russian style hat. Probably one of my favourite outfits from this year!

Second trend that I've noticed arising this winter is short a-line skirts. Skirts had a moment in the summer when everyone was concerned about the length of the hemline, but the half way up the thigh length has come out strong. These typical suit length skirts can be paired with a cute fluffy jumper (one of my personal faves) or even a smart top and some black tights.
My previous skirt purchases - particularly short ones have been somewhat of a mystery and I cant even remember the last time I bought a skirt. However this winter I'm loving the fact that skirts are in and I treated myself to two recently.
They're both from boohoo and are black leather look.
The first one below is quilted and looks almost like a wrap around skirt with a small cut out on the right side. It's the longer of the two and is one I'd probably wear to a more formal occasion rather than every day.

The second one is a lot shorter and of a thicker quality. It has a zip at the side and two zips on the left hand side for detail. Like stated before I wear this with black tights and a fluffy jumper tucked in.

The third and final trend this winter is a trend that's been apparent for about most of the year now but is a trend that I swear by! What I'm talking about is the very outfit enhancing, statement necklace.
These were a big thing this summer and make any plain tee look a million dollars. I love wearing these over plain coloured jumpers to add that much needed block of colour or hint of sparkle.

Below are my small yet useful collection of necklaces which I've bought from various high street shops including Primark and H&M. These transform any basic outfit and can really pull a look together even though it's really only a simple bit of jewellery.

So that's its for Friday Fashion Fix for today, please stay tuned for more posts and next weeks Friday Fashion Fix.

Still adjusting to this whole new blogging business so bare with me. However, right now I'm currently indulging in a creamy chocolate topped mocha, free from McDonald's courtesy of the McDonald's app for IPhone, so I'm in a good mood. Anyway, Friday Fashion Fix is a thing I'm going to start doing and a segment in which I'll tell you all my fashion icons, favourite looks and trends hitting the high street this week.

This week is fashion icons and my top three of this week are as follows...

The first is Kylie Jenner, sporting an all white sleeveless, wrap around bottom dress with a high neck at the Sugar Factory  grand opening on Thursday 14th.

This dress is very subtle but suits her figure and ombréd hair perfectly. She has teemed it with white nails, simple gold rings and five rather pricey Cartier gold bracelets.

On her feet she wears strappy heels with a silver strap over the toes, tan strap across the mid part of her foot and red buckle around the ankle. This adds an inject of colour into the all-white dress.

Next is a more casual look from my princess Kim Kardashian arriving at LaserAway in Santa Monica on Thursday 14th.

On top she wears a basic, baggy plain white tee with a simple gold necklace and designer black sunnies. She pairs this well with one knee cut pale blue skinny jeans. This is tied together with a crocodile skin bag trimmed in gold finishings. Recently Kim has been wearing a lot of white and it matches her complexion really well and of course like everything, she can pull it off.

Third and finally is a smart causal look from Selena Gomez.

This look is great as it can be worn with smart kitten heeled shoes for a formal look or cute flats or slippers for an everyday "about town" approach.
She wears a baggy, plain black tee tied into a knot at the side under a cropped black blazer. You can't go wrong with a black blazer or a blazer of any basic colour and Selena proves this as she teems it with distressed "Mom" jeans rolled up just above the ankle. She holds a black bag with a blue trim, gold hoop earrings and black circle cat-eyed sunglasses. Selena completes this combination with a basic top knot to finish off the smart casual look.

Hope you enjoyed that and please feel free to comment.

I'd thought I'd start off this first real post by talking about one of my all time favourite things and something everyone should own and that is, a watch.

Watches are a great thing to tie everything you're wearing together, whether it's a big statement watch or not.

I myself only have 3 but intend to build my collection with watches of all different shapes and colours.
My most recent watch is a gold and ivory two toned watch from River Island.
The two toned pattern runs throughout the strap and around the face. The face itself is gold based with ivory features such as the tips of the hands and the lines where some numbers are replaced. The face also has three smaller faces on the left hand side and the River Island logo on the right. Obviously being my newest addition, this watch is my favourite and a must to complete outfits.

Below is one of the best watches I've ever had. I got it for Christmas last year and although it has a few minor scratches it's still in perfect working order.
It is a rose gold watch made by Quartz with rose gold hands and 12 diamantés in the face itself. The strap is slightly too big for me however I managed to tie it to perfect size. The face itself is on the large side - well for my small wrists anyway.

The next watch is one I got for my birthday a few years ago. It is a white Ice watch with a white rubber strap.

It's a similar design to my Quartz watch but has 8 dots situated amongst the numbers and when the button at the side is pressed they flash multicoloured. The hands and the dot above the 12 glow in the dark also.

Hope you enjoyed that short but sweet first post and stay to check out more posts.

Wow and welcome I suppose to me and my blog, my blog and I. My name is Bethany Emerton, I am 16, from the UK and this is my blog and a place where I hope I record life experiences, recommendations and lots of other things. I first decided to make this as I aim to peruse a future career along the path of writing and English and I thought this would help as a confidence booster and give me a marginal insight into potential career prospects.

I can put my hands down and say that I am not the most creative and literally correct person and although I hope to a achieve a career in writing my blog may not reflect all that. So bare with me whilst I find my feet in this blogging world.

That was only a small introduction into a bit about me and what my blog should entail. Please keep reading and watching as I post.
