Recipe: Sweet Potato Fries

These fries will change your life. Seriously, they will. Forget normal potato fries, it's all about their cousins, the sweet yet salty and oh so delicious sweet potato.

Sweet potato fries are the easiest things to make and a perfect healthy alternative the plain potato version. At just under 200 calories per portion, sweet potatoes contain over twice the amount of Vitamin A that you need for one day- winner.

They take only half an hour from start to finish which includes prep and cooking time and thus making them perfect as a side to a meal or as a tasty snack.

As I'm a lover of all things guilt-free, sweet potatoes certainly fit under that category (why else would I be telling you about them). They are a complex carbohydrate, contain protein and definitely keep you fuller for longer.

But enough rambling, let's get into it...

Ingredients (Serves 4 people)

3 Large Sweet Potatoes
Olive Oil
Salt

Method

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

ALERT: This bit is a bit messy. Begin by peeling the skin off the sweet potatoes.

Next, chop each sweet potato in half and half again and then slice into "chip sized" pieces (or bigger if you want wedge-style fries!).

Place all the fries into a large bowl.

Next drizzle with olive oil and salt.

Cover a baking tray with greaseproof paper and place all the fries on top.

Pop the tray into the oven and cook for 20 minutes.

And there you have it.

The perfect accomplice to any meal and something you wish you'd tried sooner!

Please try them and let me know how you get on, but just to warn you, they are very addictive - oops.

Thank you for reading!
