Recipe - Bethany's Cookies

Nothing smells better than freshly baked cookies mmmm mmmm. I decided to make a batch for my friends and family last weekend as a Valentine's Day treat - cute, I know.

This is my take on the famous Millie's Cookies and the recipe is so simple and doesn't take that long to prepare and cook.

Ingredients:

(Makes approx 12 cookies)

100g Light Brown Soft Sugar
125g Softened Butter
125g Caster Sugar
1 Egg, lightly beaten
225g Self Raising Flour
200g Milk Chocolate

Begin by preheating the oven to 180 degrees or gas mark 4.

Cream the softened butter and sugars together and once creamed combine in the egg.

Next sift in the self rasing flour.

Then mix the mixture together.

Next, break the chocolate into small sized pieces and stir into the mixture.

Now here's the fun bit.

Using your hands roll the mixture into small balls (about the same size as a large walnut or for a bigger cookie, roll into the size of a small orange).

Place the balls on a sheet of greaseproof paper on top of a baking tray and put in the oven for 7-10 minutes.

Leave to cool for a few minutes on a wire rack - they test best when still warm and gooey inside.

Why don't you give these a try, they seriously are yummy!
